T. A. Orji disowned Senatorial posters Because ....

Gov. Theodore Orji of the eastern Nigerian state of Abia said he had no hand in the posters which signify his interest in the Senate in 2015.

Speaking with newsmen at the Government House, Umuahia on Wednesday, Orji said his aides called his attention to the posters, which adorned strategic locations in Umuahia and its environs, after his return from the council of states’ meeting in Abuja.

He attributed the posters to the handiwork of those urging him to run for the Senate in 2015, especially people from the Abia Central senatorial Zone.

We all expected this turn of event but not so soon.

We recall the governor flagging his senatorial campaign at Aba late last year where he told the Ngwa people, "shie dey talk say ngwa person no fit rule Abia State? una go rule now".

At that occasion the governor shared his campaign hand bills so why the sudden turn arround?

The political calculation then was that the senator representing Abia central will step down for Dr. T. A.. Orji. Ochendu then will be the senatorial candidate of Abia central why the senator representing Abia central will go for the governor of Abia state with the son's governor, Chinedu (Ikuku) as the running mate.

Then Ihejirika who is being seen now as a favorite to Abia government house was with the president. With his lose of office, there is fear that he has resurrected his governorship ambition. But the most worrisome development is that the senator representing Abia central has told the governor point blank that she is not interested in the governorship race.

Ochendu at the moment is at a cross road on which political direction to take has fail to convince the Abia senatorial representative to go for the governorship contest of the state and allow him to take her place as a senatorial representative of the region.

The governor of Abia state is still shopping for a candidate knowing full well that this game is a game of dog eats dog.
